We got different perspectives in reading. Ion know if it was hinted in the manhwa that once Matthias became the emperor, like how he was when he was the crown prince, he'd just be a puppet for the Empress to control, and it would actually be her who would control the empire. Just from behind Matthias. I don't honestly think she's overprotective of him, I think that she thinks her children are pawns.
