And his “redemption arc” is literally:
1. I am very sad that my child and girlfriend presumably died right before they could watch me marry another woman
2. Played ball with my child and gave him a dog that I don’t help take care of, clearly I am great with kids and my mere presence (to occasionally play with him, not actually take care of or parent him) will make his sad little heart complete
3. Maybe I shouldn’t withhold my child’s lifesaving medication to prevent his mom from leaving me
4. I’m respecting my ex girlfriend’s freedom and autonomy by generously choosing to allow her to leave me and move on
5. I saved my child from drowning look how heroic I am, obviously I would be a great father and husband please forget about all the abuse and neglect stuff lol
