MC is reincarnation of a system. White cat is a friend of past MC. MC regained a portion of his memories from the past and realized the old him was just using the old ML. ML is MC's former host that was also being used to hold energy. The energy is needed to destroy the big baddie super computer that controls all the systems. The implication is that using the stored energy would kill the ML because all of it is stored in the ML's soul. The ML was split 5 ways and every world the MC went to was to unintentionally retrieve a part of him.
The current MC is now in love with the ML and hates who he was.
