I'm confused

I don't get what the king's problem is. Can someone please explain it to me?
Like i know that he doesn't want Cedric to be the new king because he's his sister's son and he was jealous of her. But like what's his actual problem? Now, is he trying to help them or is he helping his son Lawrence? I'm confused

He doesn’t trust ANYONE and he thinks Cedric is trying to usurp the throne. He wants to have a complete control hence he wants to choose the one to inherit the throne himself

But he was already chosen by him before all this suspicion. The rage came when Tia was officially proclaimed as saint, so the only thing was that the decision he made "couldn't be changed". From my side it looks just like a misunderstanding. But I'm confused because of the sudden rage. Idk maybe there's nothing to be confused about and it's just his blindness about his love for ruling.

No, after that he felt like it was all set up and he didn’t even get to choose the crown prince out of his volition. He thinks that Tia and Cedric are plotting together (although it’s partially true since Cedric is helping Tia to do her stuff). But let’s be honest the emperor really was manipulated into the most of things, and now that it’s become clear he’s just being stubborn. Nobody likes being played, right? Like, imagine finding out the people you trust plotting together to affect your decisions. Now you don’t know which decisions were your own, and which were manipulated by them. Apart from that, yeah it’s him being hungry for power

There’s also the fact that the blond/green haired Lawrence’s lapdog lied to the emperor that Cedric and Tia had been supporting traitors and formed a whole village of them. Basically I think that’s just the village where Lawrence just ended his killing spree and needed a legitimate reason to kill so he made up that lie. And the emperor now knows that Lawrence isn’t fit to rule either that’s why he is trying to take Leticia so he can train her to be the heir even though he knows he won’t even last that long.

Yea, it's basically the same thing cuz his suspicion came when Tia became officially the saint (again) cuz i think there is an "unwritten rule" that the saintess should marry the crown prince so the temple and the imperial family wouldn't be at odds and be together the ruling power. And then probably he felt that it's a set up cuz i think he thought that Cedric somehow knew that Tia was the saintess (or sth like that, or maybe i just mixed up the timeline lol idk). But long story short we think the same, so i get it and i agree.

Oh yeaaa, this too! He was so angry at the possibility that this could be the truth, that Cedric could actually do that.
