ik hyung is brother in korean AND is also used for endearments (same w oppa, noona, & unnie) but it just throws me into a loop when they actually translate hyung like it’s a literal jumpscare to be reading “brother” while they’re doing the…thing

    Hyung CAN be used for brother but it’s mainly used as honorifics towards males who are older than you.
