I think he only tried to explain that he LOVED his ex (as in the past tense).
He's just upset his ex is accusing him for only looked at him as a colleague.
But I agree the ending is not satisfying though.
ML sucks so much here. The ending wasn’t satisfying, he still tried to argue with his ex that he loves him? That’s kind of weird. To me he’s all over the place, bet he’s gonna change his mind about MC too.
