beating heart*. Kiyora was randomly introduced, proceeded to help Kaiser, and now he's gone again. Rin, despite training, has barely improved his mentality, Shidou and Charles are nowhere to be seen and the other characters are so mediocre/badly written that it feels as if they don't exist at all. Blue Lock revolves around Isagi, everyone knows that, but it's genuinely so disappointing how Isagi is the only one constantly growing at a fast pace and is written well while the others seem like a bunch of NPCs. Rin wasn't even that impressive in past chapters because once again, he's completely hellbent on defeating Isagi. When are you going to grow?
I was hoping that Kaneshiro wouldn't go through with this route but he did anyway. Ness was introduced as the core playmaker of the old Bastard Munchen team, was said to be able to perform plays so insane that it seemed like "magic", and was called the beating hard of Munchen. Despite this, during these past few and his very first chapters Ness hasn't done anything. The way Kaneshiro wrote him is straight up disappointing and it's basically him getting constantly abused, used, and insulted by Kaiser (aside from back when they were actually getting along). Kaiser & Ness as well as Nagi & Reo and the past Bachira & Isagi rs have parallels to each other. It's disappointing to see how badly written Ness is as compared to Reo and Bachira.
Not once did Ness' loyalty waver when it's more realistic for him to slowly doubt Kaiser. At the end, it's the abuser who ends the relationship while the abused victim is left dumb and helpless. It feels as if he just didnt know what to do with Ness' character and his only reason for existing is to be used as a stepping stone for Kaiser. It's disappointing.
