Hatano is probably 17 and our MC probably 20/21. The legal age in Japan until recently was 20 and Hatano mentioned in some chapters before that he's a minor and will try again in 3 years when hes an adult (so 20-3=17)

A minor in Japan would be under 18 though. I remember the mc said he wants a partner he could drink with so more like the legal drinking age which is 20.

I meant you are an adult in Japan when you're 20. I think they recently reduced it to 18, but before that at 18 you weren't considered an adult yet
