    I think it depends on the Japanese word used, but I think "I like you" is the same or even better than "I love you". The last one is so overused that I think it lost all meaning behind it. Both my partner and I deeply love each other but we say "I like/adore you so much" because it’s not even the words that count, it’s the actions! "I love you" sometimes has no meaning, it’s an empty affirmation. So many ppl say it and they go around cheating on the person they say they love…
