Don't worry, when people don't get what they want they'll do something to replace it. Remember when YOI was still running and it's hard to find yoi dj, and when it s already ended you know what happen. It works with viktorxyuri/yurixviktor dj as well. I enjoy both role but I prefer viktorxyuri too! (づ￣ ³￣)づ
And I think some people still stick with seme uke role after all they just don't realise it (or they do but they like it so they don't really care tho). People like prettier guy as bottom/uke and about height matter when yuri wears his skate he looked like in the the same heigh as viktor (he wears it almost every time each episode) so you can tell why some people see viktor as bottom/uke bc he got almost all uke stereotypes. imnt offending tho just describing the possibilities ╮(￣▽￣)╭
The creators portrayed them as equals in the anime (and neither is passive in their relationship), so I'm pretty sure if some doujinkas stopped trying to slightly change their personalities just to fit the seme/uke role, people wouldn't be so thrown off when Victor is bottoming (seriously tho, he's cute and he'd love having Yuuri in control. I don't get why it is so difficult to see him bottoming xD). But in most (not all) djs I read, they make him too feminine and make his body too delicate when he's obviously more buff than Yuuri.
And I know people have preferences lol. But it's easier to just imagine them as reversibles (it really fits them) and just enjoy the Victuuri (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
True, YOI got huge fandom even from the non fujoshis because of the pure romance between Victor and Yuuri... truly an equal relationship was drawn between our Victuuri but I think creator dropped her hints throughout all the episodes who she prefers to be the seme(obviously Victor who can get a man pregnant) and uke(Our cute Yuuri who was finding womenlynature within him)if it's ever turning to be yaoi(obviously not in the show since even their kiss was censored) except for djs....Where fandom knows no limit of imaginations..Of course, Victor is more manly and sexy than chubby, cute Yuuri but the creator still wanted us to let our imaginations fly around so Victor was made with more girly nature with more manly body....If sensei really isn't into strange pairing then it's hard to remember(I remember tho) where uke lifted the seme and was taller and had a manlier body......okay, I'll say it now, I have a crush on Victor, so I want to see HIM taking Yuuri, I want to see him as a bold, mighty seme, not as a uke(〜￣△￣)〜
