yeah, that part distracts. i was expecting for him to say when i was finally transformed "it was a dream, but not. i am a normal human now, but our history is that i was your best friend since childhood." or something like that. like have him have a family now. maybe even have it where disgraced grim reapers have a family network as it isn't uncommon.
Or even in plots like these, the former non human realizes the value of money when the human begins to struggle supporting two people. The non human then gets a job or something. I mean, our baby is just a college student
they need to get his love muffin a new job. this is cute, but doesn't feel like the end. like it feels like they fell in love and haven't gotten help from the grim reaper group for just dropping off his love muffin there.
