Literally, like it made no sense how Mamori was still falling for him even after the KIDNAPPING and RAPE. From what I read (cause I dropped it) Kamui never even acknowledged it and apologized much less took responsibility for forcing Mamori to have his kids. I’m just like c’mon..? This was so bad and wished your version could have happened.. ╥﹏╥

if i have to give a more in depth way to save the story. then we still gonna follow most of the general story, there are just some places that needs changing.
we gonna follow after the first chapter. mamori is depressed, anxious and malnourished. he has tried to escape but nothing is working, and now his only form of control is his refusal to eat. (the setting gets darker) he wake up one morning, eyes dead and an air of dread. mamori opens the window, the guard giving a suspicious glance; mamori- "i just need some fresh air, could i get a minutes privacy?" and the guard leaves.
mamori now alone looks down and takes a step up on the railing... for a moment everything stands still and light comes back into his eyes and tears start to fall.
(he doesn't wish to die)
the door opens and in comes kamui. he lunges at mamori and tackles him to the floor. a mix of anger and sadness is in his eyes; kamui- "what in the world do u think you are doing!?"
with this we have established a better way for kamui to crumble and apologies.
we can still keep the breakfast right after but gonna tone the otaku WAY down and him taking mamori with to practice. this way we keep the mamori falling in love with him, because he still is the idol he loves. we take away the fan-letter scene, but fill in more to his final outbreak about kamui using his manipulation power on a fan. and we fill it with all of mamoris emotions about everything. this way kamui can apologies for everything and the rest of the story can stay the same
even tho rape is bad and i in no way tolerate it. we can't take the rape out the story, cus we still have to follow the worlds narrative.
kamui is a god, so he doesn't follow or truly understands the morals and rules humanity has set for themselves. so we need the rape for narrative approach of a god understanding human morality.
i know this isn't perfect, but i think it would have made for a way better story that don't just brush over a serious topic like rape truly is.
Haha..Of course! But literally this is a way better outcome than what actually even happens in the story, whether it’s perfect or not. Also, I really do agree that the rape plays a big role in the fact that Kamui is a god, since he doesn’t (like you said) fully understand the human morals. It just makes me so upset though that Mamori just gave in like that in the story, and obviously I also do agree with you that after Kamui apologized seeing what he did wrong and how it affected Mamori it would have been ok to fall in love, since that was his favorite idol after all. But it’s like after all that, and he could just accept it..??
Even in like chapter 2 or 3 when Kamui told him to “behave” I was just like wtf?? Are you serious??..So even just your short version of what could have happened (or what should've happened ) made me feel so much better. Not to mention I’m happy someone else also felt strongly about how cringey that fan-letter scene shit was..lol!

Had they instead had Mamori been SUPER depressed (maybe even suicidal) and THEN Kamui caved in and apologized and took responsibility. Like gimme more than just charm and Mamori's 'undying devotion' to his idol, as motivation to forget the rape???
