I honestly don't think that's what she meant. At first I was annoyed by her speech as well 'cause I thought the same as you but I think it was just worded poorly in the beginning. It's more like a message of "their ignorance and intolerance is just fear of their children being ostracized" Of course, that doesn't excuse their actions in any way since parents should love their kids unconditionally but instead of cutting ties and resenting her parents she should explain her story until they understand. Ofc this is just manga logic and realistically speaking there will be people that never understand but I don't think Wanwan's message was as simple as "accept your parents hatred towards you because they just want you to be safe" but more of a "try everything in your power to make them understand"
