Girl I’m at chap 145 rn and I’m ugly crying, full sobbing. Idc what people say, my heart broke for Eckles. Penelope is a morally grey character and I understand that she has a goal, but there’s no way I couldn’t feel iffy with how she manipulated him and basically ruined his life. So in the next few chapters, Penelope kept feeding him fake lies and affection and Eckles just kept spiraling down from then until he became an obsessive yandare basically. Back to 145 chapt rn so the current event is that Eckles brings Ivonne back to the estate, ultimately betraying Penelope. He is at 96% affection score, so she was shocked and visited him in prison (for trying to escape) That’s where Eckles’ obsession became super intense, with a 99% affection score. He had hidden a lot of things, just to be by her side at all cause and wanted to run away with her. And then Penelope abandons him because he screwed her plans. Ivonne then comes after and it was relieved that she manipulated and brainwashed Eckles to bring her home, but he was completely helpless then and was questioning everything because his one and only master abandoned him, even throwing the ring away.

currently at chapter 105 and I can’t handle how Eckles is being treated. I know there’s still 50 chapters left and that blood red color of his affection score is suspicious but as a clueless reader I feel sooo shit that I wanna cry. I just want a reason for me not to feel this bad for him because I’m getting attached to his character :(
