I wrote something simliar. Reading the comments where mindnumbing. The answer i got was ... something.
As if some pre teens found their first 18+ Story. And the sad part is, most of these people are definitly old enough and still act like children ...
seriously ridiculous how loud these people are about their inability to read and absorb a story as it's meant to be told.
right! it’s a narrative, you can have your feelings but at least try and understand what the author is crafting here??
it reminds me of the crowd on booktok (a book community on tiktok) who literally only read romance stories for smut. how smutty a story is indicates how good it is, it’s incredibly juvenile. as you said, i just know a majority of these commenters are adults…
It’s just long winded it hasn’t nothing to do with comprehension and critical thinking. You can sum up a backstory within a couple of chapters without skimping on the details while still going deep. So to try and call out people’s intelligence because they feel like this arc is getting to long winded is wild. I like a stories with a lot of chapters but I will say when it starts to drag I become less invested in the story.
what do you consider a couple chapters? bc if a backstory only needs a couple, does 3 not count as a couple? how are 3 chapters long winded? ppl’s inability to understand that you don’t have to like a character is making them act stupid. i call it like i see it, i don’t think people are stupid but that many commenters are being purposefully dense bc their fave couple isn’t front and center every week.
wow the lack of comprehension and critical thinking is hurting me through the screen. do ppl realize that characters don’t just exist as either bad or good? when you look through a nuanced lens, you can see that characters aren’t just created with the intention of making you like them, right? nobody gives a fuck if you still want to kill ver!! shut the hell up, sit in the corner, and read the fucking backstory. in fact, you don’t have to read it, but please keep the bitching and moaning to a minimum.
i get that ppl don’t care about plot when it comes to yaoi, but omg? his childhood is not just trauma to tug at your heartstrings, it actually comes to explain the story and his role thus far. have some decorum and either wait for the flashback to wrap up or read the story.
