I mean, he is Royalty and of noble status so it would be weird if he was dense and oblivious to what was happening in the kingdom.

Seen so many royalties in media, who indulges themselves in pleasure and doesn’t care about all that

Oh, I meant for a BL mc. Most BL mcs are from regular families or are commoners who are dense and eventually fall for the ML who's rich or smth. BL mcs that are royalty or have a high status aren't usually so dense since they have some power in the story. So it's no surprise that Etienne isn't so dense and naive like other BL mcs since he's a royalty and knows what's happening his kingdom.
