Why are yaoi manhwas so cliche these days

Hi y'all. I love bl genre so bad that it has been two freaking years since the last time I read a straight manhwa. And whenever I try to do so, I get withdrawal symptoms, lol. But tbh, there are only a few yaois that has unique plot these days, some are just your typical red flag seme and crybaby uke, tho I still read it coz there's really nothing else. And there are some that are well written still using that trope, imo. But... like 90% of the stories are just frustratingly clichés and similar to each other. The main reason I switched to reading bl stories/manhwas was because the straight stories just feel boring. But now, I'm starting to feel the same with bl. Is it just me or... the stories are kinda bland these days. If it's just me, I'll probably just switch to yuri now

I totally get what u mean tho, I first started reading bl then it felt boring so i switched to straight romance that included historical and modern or other genres then I moved back to bl and now reading with a hint of yuri too... gotta have a taste of everything! ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Genres have tropes so stuff is repeated. May as well try other genres.
