This was so frustrating to read. So many misunderstandings that could’ve been solved if they just communicated properly. Honestly, the way the story started was good, but then there’s too many conflicts coming up and it’s just so difficult to keep up. I actually thought the main conflict would be like how the MC would feel betrayed or used once he finds out he looked like the ML’s first love or something like that, because the author gave it so much focus on the former part of the story. Surprise surprise, the conflicts would actually be about the MC’s internalized homophobia and the ML’s nosy ass “friend” who just keeps making everything worse.

Everyone keeps getting on my nerves, especially MC and the ML’s friend. I get that the MC may be having his awakening and is getting confused with all the new things he’s feeling, but he literally had no right to keep pushing that the ML is only just confused just like himself. Imagine telling others how they feel. PROPER COMMUNICATION, this is what they obviously lack. They have the tendency to keep brushing off important things just to keep the peace in this relationship.

And the friend, mygod the friend!! He has his own trauma, I get it. He was young back then, I get it. He has good intentions, I get it. But it’s concerning how his mind processes his actions as right. I mean, threatening your suicidal friend and using his own weaknesses against him? I think Heechan has a problem with understanding others’ emotions. To him, you’re either strong-willed or weak-minded. Honestly, this may be an unpopular opinion, but what happened to his brother was partially his fault. I know he had good intentions and was really young back then, but his insensitivity and thoughtlessness was what kind of pushed his brother to the edge. And now, he didn’t want a repeat of what happened, so he’s trying to help ML whom he thinks is similar to his brother, so he’s trying to completely cut off the main cause of what may also happen to ML at the expense of his friend’s happiness. And truthfully, Heechan got away way too easily with everything he did. I just wish ML was able to confront his nosy ass friend and made him realize how much of a shit friend he actually is.

Anyway, as I’ve said, this was so frustrating to read, I only finished it because I at least wanted to see if everyone got what they deserve, and I must say I’m disappointed with all the loose ends. Still, I loved Eunsung from start to finish.
