Finding a BL

I’m trying to find this BL but I can’t remember anything about it except for a scene where the uke is crying by a river and sees a stray puppy and then thinks “me and this puppy are the same, people like us enough to be nice to us, but no one loves me enough to take me home”. And then he falls into the river.
I remember feeling so sad when I read that but I can’t remember which story that was at all
