"a boy develops an unconscious infatuation towards his mother, and simultaneously fears his father to be a rival"

basically boy with mommy issues likes his partner who have similarities with his mother

It actually is quite normal since most men tend to prefer woman who bear a resemblance to their mother (be it shape of body , skin color , hair color or sometimes just the vibe or eye shape) they tend to have an interest in women who have even a speck of their mothers identity because their mother are the first women to ever hold them and show them affection , so to them the concept of their mother becomes the definition of peace , that's why they always search for women who remind them of their mothers (not in appearance only) lol

and that's what Sigmund Freud is cackling in his grave cause his theory is being proven left and right
