Yeah, that’s pretty much it. And I wouldn’t be surprised the other guy also thinks it’s pseudo cheating because he doesn’t know the term either. Considering we still get manga that essentially don’t believe people can be bi. “You like girls so you’re straight!” Makes my eyes roll
The you like girls so you're straight arguement I hate but I think it's understandable in the main characters case because he thinks he's just being played or used by the ML who hes only seen be around girls and never guys so in his eyes it's not that "you like girls so you're straight" it's more like "are you saying you're into both to give me hope and use me?" Is what I think atleast
Terrible ML for jerking him around but also… the ML isn’t cheating? He’s in an open relationship and everyone within that relationship is a consenting adult where all of the partners are aware of each other and even get along. That’s kind of polyamory but I guess they don’t really have that term in Japan? (Though people in poly relationships don’t look at their partners as accessories so that part is wrong. So it’s like… halfway to a poly relationship)
But yeah, it’s absolutely terrible of him to keep hurting the one he claims to love the most.
