I am aware he did call him that next chapter, but he said it under duress. I meant that someday he’ll say it because he feels it, not because it’s their safe word for when Hayden loses control.
I was rereading chapter 16 when Hayden tells Brett about the reason why he chose “honey” as their safe word and Brett was like “is that so?”, then he offered “sugar puff” instead. It got me thinking that maybe at some point he’ll call him “honey” non-ironically.
