iirc tho i never fully finished the novel and just spoiled major events, basically yvone in the original timeline (which is shown in the beginning lore/exposition) is poisoned by pen on the day of the ceremony or sometime during that plot point and everyone decides to basically kill pen for her evil deeds against yvone. If you want me to go in further depth in terms of spoilers i can bc theres a whole bunch of changes coming and thats just what is established for now (there are more spoilers beyond this)

Very (not) brief, very in-depth
-In the original timeline of the game, yvone is meant to be poisoned by pen and almost die, yvone is actually not yvone though, because the original yvone died while its her body that the evil cultistist’s goddess (Layla/Laila) who took over and that’s why everyone has an “inherent” affinity/liking for the character in the game (is because they’re being brainwashed). However, it is revealed that the real yvone still has consciousness of what is going on and the years of atrocities that the ‘goddess’ has been committing all while using her body and she cannot do anything about it. When the cult goddess is thwarted her dead body is able to pass on along with her consciousness.
>>>Aka. Forcible body possession but she actually dead but is aware her dead puppet body is being used to kill + harm thousands including her own family. The Layla needed someone who had enough power or influence to be able to enact their schemes to reclaim power and unfortunately the “real daughter” was a casualty. More on this later
-Turns out penelope is the last descendant of the andent wizards and is the only person in the world capable of defeating the evil layla goddess and that is why the original penelope was so instinctively cruel/vindictive/evil to “yvone” although part of it was also probably motivated by other psychological factors. The ancient wizards were the race who sealed away the Layla. All magicians are genetic like viktor and pen however pen due to her bloodline premium (a joke) is both immune to the layla goddess’s mind control and also has genetic memory that allows her to cast magic (as seen conveniently in the story here and there) ***however her bloodline is cursed by the Layla (haha queue the title “villains are destined to die”) to be seen as villains and make it harder for people to believe her. Also the (im just gonna call the goddess layla atp) actively targeted her because she found out pen’s background and etc.
- Cha Siyeon (mc/transmigrated penelope) has stomach cancer! It is because of this that she is in a coma vegetative state (they dont know that her soul is out of her body which is probably the real reason for that) and all the hard work and little rest took its toll on her body and kick-started the story. Side note: a lot of these truths are revealed to pen through the mirror, the wand, and the golden dragon fang
- Vinter originally brings “yvone” home to the mansion to spite penelope, but ends up expediting the process of basically ending the world because he gets penelope killed, and he uses his magic to reset the world timeline. Unfortunately, the Layla goddess is machine learning AI (joke) and after the countless loops of the same plot occurring, gets really good at trying to end the world. (Vinter keeps reseting the damn world and forgetting, this dumbass) He is vaguely aware of pen’s precarious existence in the loops but is ultimately unable to escape layla’s brainwashing until Cha Siyeon’s loop w/ butterfly effect etc etc. Later down the line when the dust settles (layla is no more) the mirror of truth makes him regain his memories and Callisto prevents him from being around penelope for fear of his changed feelings after regaining his memory, to affect penelope’s feelings for vinter.
-Yes, the darkness of the love values indicate their obsession or yandere attributes, and derrick actually treats penelope badly because he’s physically/emotionally attracted to her, he NEVER thought of her as a sister and thus gets upset when she calls him “brother” as it seems to remind him of his twisted desires (think of the bird that looks like penelope) all of this unbeknownst to pen. >>>Aka he is a man (imagine im saying “man” as a slur) who deals (or fails to) with his feelings for pen by taking it out on her. This is also true for the original timeline so man has always been lusting after his adoptive sister.
SO The magic necklace Pen has on right now allows her to figure out that there is poison in the drinks of the ceremony banquet and “Yvone” had intended to frame pen as trying to kill her but Pen thinking that she had lost the game because she couldn’t capture a love interest in time, purposefully drinks the cup she knows is poisoned… to end her suffering and die. Vinter comes in time to provide her with an antidote but everyone becomes suspicious of “yvone” and Vinter realized the poison Pen had asked for was different to the one that she tried to kill herself with.
-The golden dragon fang is an ancient artifact that can destroy the world which is why Layla wants it, however pen gets her hands on if and has the option to save Callisto or go back to her world. She chooses to save Callisto (zzzzzz alright cock whipped much)
In some side stories she gets to go back anyways but decides to pull the plug on herself and die in her original world, leaving her family behind (GIRL) and stay in the other world with Callisto and they have a child before they get married. The child also has Pen’s special wizard blood and is super powerful also because Callisto’s bloodline is descended from a demigod (????? Okay????) and their daughter is instated for the throne. The curse on her bloodline is lifted after Layla dies.
That’s the key points at least. Sorry this took me a while to recall and gather, hope this helps ^^

Basically Callisto is the endgame, GOOD That's all i needed to hear, because if he was not, this wasn't gonna be a happy ending for me. But aside from that, I get the story (thank you a lot) but now I'm questioning some characters. I get that derrick was (is) an asshole (he really is) but what happened to reynold? Did he side with his sister pen?
From what I heard from other spoilers ( I just can't help refraining from knowing), pen's soul was getting damaged from how many times Vinter was reseting the timeline, is there any more details than that? Dw just keep it short, Ion't want you to be sleep deprived
