Sorry but I can't totally agree with you about the pace...
And one of the things I like about the story is that any of them are 'perfect'.
You say is a toxic relationship and yes, the agreement at the beginnig wasn't bc of love or anything like that... but that changes with time in this story.
You say they recover too fast.
However, they spent months as friends with benefits first without relaising their own feelings in Cheon-oh's case and with fear of telling them and loosing what thay had at the moment in Yi-Rim's. Then Cheon-Oh relaised but neither of them said what they feel until Yi-Rim gets admitted to the hospital, they had sex bc Cheon-Oh's rut arrive suddenly and Yi-Rim disappear.
When Yi-rim go to OB he is 2 months pregnant and Cheon doens't find him immediately. And even when they get together, Cheon wass taking pills for months before Yi-Rim discovers it and disappear again... And when Yuho goes to tell Yi-Rim that Cheon is going back to swimm he said the competition is in 3 months, time Cheon has to train without pills, with omegas...
So I'd say it takes them at least a year to get there since they met.
Did you calculate more or less that period of time? Do you still find it was rushed?
I respect your opinion: You don't like the story.
Please, respect that others might like it.
Thank you for such a well thought out reply.
Personally I just couldn't get over how childish the relationship was but I am very harsh on weak relationships with unplanned children. Also Yi-Rim endangering himself and consequently his baby because he's neglecting himself is( ̄へ ̄)
I could wave away the timeline feeling rushed aside the less than 3 month "recovery" for Cheon-Oh. He has struggled for years and he wasn't always using the smell blocking tablets. From my understanding of the comic they were a last resort when all the different therapies failed, so his C-PTSD trauma response going away in 3 months because Yi-Rim's love is conditional rubs me the wrong way from multiple angles.
Perhaps I would have felt more positive about the exact same timeline if the comic didn't leave most developments for the background, though.
This story isn't wholesome or cute. It's two immature people who shouldn't have been together getting together in a toxic relationship that only lasted bc of a non-consentual accidental pregnancy. And then all of their trauma/health issues evaporate in a span of a couple months for plot convience, so they can be together one more time after breaking up multiple times.
They should have been dating CPTSD therapy. It may look nice compared to psychological torture levels of abusive pairings that are common in other stories of this genre but it's still ridiculous.
The timeline of the story, esp the end (and sides) is just whack and the sex scenes are very uninspired.
