After reading this, it got me thinking

That maybe some author's often go the bland redundant miscommunication route because they do not really put time to flesh out their characters or they fear that directly straightening up things might lead to bland storytelling (which in some cases do be true for me at least)

However, I feel like if they know how to craft good scenes like this chapter, direct communication stays interesting because of how much uniqueness is present in the mcs thought process you know? Makes you see things on a different lens. Like you can tell the author really put their time and effort to mould their ideal mc and understand how his mind works. Because I've read many BL stories where it feels like even the author is confused what type of person their mcs are.
