so yvonne (possessed by the goddess) wills always end up killing penelope and the empire will always end up in ruins for some reason (the goddess makes a full return and takes over). vinter connects the dots and figures it’s because penelope dies every time, so he reverses the timeline every time in order to save the empire and penelope. this damages penelope’s soul so much that a piece of her soul reincarnates into modern korea where she plays the “game”. also og penelope was a very powerful mage in the original timeline i believe, that’s why she had an interest in the ancient magic artifacts and was touched by the ancient scroll the crown prince gifted her
