I agree but I think the author did it for comedic purpose, also is kind of the naive type and it seems to be the very first time he is genuinely in love. The author probably wanted to portray the excitement of the « first time «
I find the current Love interest quite disrespectful to his friends. He’s not respecting boundaries and it shows. And I feel like if he’s not even taking their boundaries into consideration how is he gonna respect those in a relationship?
But that’s just my opinion…
