Other comments have covered the nature of the story and the true villains and messages. I would just like to address the length. As much as I enjoyed having exposition and no loose ends, this story went on far too long. Most chapters felt like filler, and even though the art was fantastic, after Seiichi loses his mind in the detention center, it’s just a lot of pushing to the end. Okay, his dad dies. Honestly it could’ve ended with him realizing the important role of his father and how he stuck beside him. But then, he tries to kill himself. Okay, either he succeeds and the story ends or he realizes the value of life and the story ends. But then, his mother gets detained and on and on and on. We get backstory which is great and all questions are answered but man. I feel like the last 50 or so chapters just dredged on and wasted my time.
TL;DR The story was too long and repetitive. The moral and writing (mostly the beginning and middle) were still really good. Ending could’ve been better.
