Kinda disturbed by this, I really liked the character of Vercion but his development never really make any sense and I always felt like something was rushed in the writing of his character.
And now…. Like now… why:… I don’t dislike but just… why now

My exact thoughts! I love religious trauma and I’m up for a dark toxic character so I like seeing Vercion, but it’s kinda weird to push this arc on him. I’m conflicted because I want more of him but I don’t like what this means for the narrative that the MC can be abused and he’ll just forgive endlessly… especially since he has past trauma around this same issue shouldn’t he be learning to stand up for himself not backsliding into getting validation from others? Also for Vercion if he was to truly be redeemed it would mean him finding validation within himself as well. He believes he is blessed by god and that literally makes him above others, he only likes MC because he is his god. He isn’t becoming a better person he is just treating one person a little better than before. Both of them are not benefiting from this weird direction.

Maybe they are going to push the new guy as the antagonist now so they're putting Vercion in a good light
