Ok so as many are pointing out here in the comments, we're all getting a gut feeling that Yao/Aida and Purya are somewhat connected, just like Lan/Kay and Valerie are.

My own reasoning comes feom the fact that we see that Purya and Valerie were super close (they're gay and in love your honor) just like Yao and Lan. The fact that the last two had such a strong bond (also very much in love with eachother) and transmigrated at the same time is probably the reason why Valerie and Purya also "awakened" in the same bodies they did.

But here comes the big question, if Yao/Aida has a dormant Purya inside, why is she unable to use magic and is also inmune to it? Well, easy answer: as we're told, humans didn't originally possess magic. What I believe happened for them to suddenly be able to weild is that either 1) seeing the tragic events of the Callamity that befell humans, Purya either sacrificed herself or willingly gave humans her magic so they could defend themselves. Or 2) humanity somehow stole Purya's magic. Either way, her losing her magic is what led to her "death". This would explain why "Purya's soul" is still dormant in Aida (no magic strong enough to awaken) and also would give an actual reason as to why Valerie wants to steal the magic from humans (maybe in order to "revive" Purya(?). OK, BUT WHAT DOES ALL THIS REALLY RELATE TO AIDA BEING A IMMUNE TO MAGIC?! Simple! If we believe that she is related to Purya in any way and that humanity's magic does originate from Purya then it's only natural that Aida won't get affected by "her own magic".

Q: "Wait, but if Aida IS Purya and humanity's magic is Purya's magic then why tf isn't Aida able to weild magic??"
Wonderful question my friend. The answer is simple: Purya (or rather her soul i guess) is out of magic. Her magic is out there in the world, that's why humans can use it, but whatever part may reside inside Aida is akin to an empty bottle. This would also explain why Valerie can't tell Purya is inside Aida (no trace of her magic or mana inide Aida. In fact, something odd magic users notice about Aida is that she has no magic at all).

And finally, if my theory is somewhat correct, this would also explain why Kay/Valerie's offensive magic is not effective with Aida (because Valerie's magic reflects her emotions and she'd never hurt Purya whether it be intentionally or not).

Jesus Christ I am a yapper fr. If anyone has come this far, first thing, why? And second thanks for bearing with me xD If you have any other ideas or have a different theory let me know I'll be thrilled to read it :3!!!

I like your theories lol. I just wanted to add that I feel like I've read something in one of the chapters that lead me to believe that short kid looking principal has something to do with Aida and her having zero magic but being very strong. I could be wrong though, it's just something that came to my mind.

Oh! That little bitch is definetly involved in something shady (plus his heterocromia is hella sus) I wouldn't be surprised if he or his ancestors were involved in whataver happened to Purya >:[
