Am I the only one who is surprised how the second wife ( cesar’s mother) who is known to be cunning and smart with her schemes ( maybe) stealing the king from his first wife and yet made such a dumb mistake as admitting that the arsenic was for ( shameful ) syphilis?! Like she could ve gotten out of jail but she must’ve known that admitting it was a ( shamed) sexually transmitted disease would make her lose the favour of the king and admitting that she also cheated on him! What a dumb move for a « cunning « woman. Like it doesn’t make sense, only the author wanted to put an end to her but in a dumb way.
