Basically, the same reason why those weebs who made self insert ocs for anime would choose cringy af japanese names, naming a character in a different language with different naming conventions is not intuitive and a lot of manhwa authors don't bother making any research and instead pick a random word

I just started it and want to continue reading this but I can't read her stupid name without saying it as Malaria in my head. What's up with these authors giving MC's stupid names? Also the male lead seems to be dark-skinned which is rare and so nice. But I really can't take this seriously because of Malaria.
