I'm pretty sure the black haired guy said brown haired guys voice was familiar or similar to a guy he knew but mc didn't recognise his voice at all so maybe black haired guy thought it was just a mistake.
Then again you don't usually think the person you're playing with is your neighbour even if they sound the same or maybe that's just me.
