I dont believe this could be considered grooming or pedophilia because Ryeong never had any sexual intentions when raising Jae. Im pretty sure Ryeong is aware Jae might be older than he looks but since he doesn't hav any recollection of who he is or what he is, Ryeong just treats him like a child and is raising him like a child. Iirc, the manhwa also showed Ryeong being flabbergasted when he realized Jae might be having romantic feelings for him because Ryeong has always treated Jae with the mindset of a father/teacher. Ryeong's also uncomfortable with Jae's feelings towards him for multiple reasons

Eh its not.it started with Jae met ryeong when ryeong was young when jae’s in hiding and injured. ryeong told jae to come find him back after he grows up because he said jae is good looking jae unconsciously went to find ryeong in his weaken state right after the battle. That is why u see from the earlier chapter jae is not in complete state ( finger only) and ryeong is cultivating that finger and thats how u see jae growing. Jae was never a child, he was in a incomplete state due to lost most of his power.

It's a little complicated because we're dealing with immortals, reincarnations, and curses. Technically, Paljae was not a "real" child when Ryeong found him in the water. But Ryeong also did not have romantic or sexual feelings towards child Jae. Even after Jae's growth spurt, Ryeong does not hold those feelings toward Jae. There were some moments that I found uncomfortable, but in general, I don't consider Paljae or Ryeong as pedophiles or groomers.
