highlight: MISUNDERSTANDINGS GALORE
so mc ends up sleeping with ml cause his twin sis; who is betrothed to the ml, got into some deep shit so mc is sleeping with ml to appease with him. we get backstories where the ml obviously favours the mc more and even said that if the mc was a girl, he wouldve preferred to marry mc instead. so the thing is it's obvious these two mfs like each other, BUT mc thinks ml is just fucking him for the sake of "punishment' in his sister's stead. Towards the end of s1, the mc gives back an amulet the ml bestowed upon him (when he went on the battlefield) and proposes to separate from the ml. ml goes batshit crazy cause he also heard that the mc was getting engaged with someone then he smells perfume on the mc and assumes the mc slept with a woman. so obv he does the most normal thing and yeets the mc into the bathtub to clean him then they smash, again.

the highlight of s2: oh my god ml is actually insane INSANE it's impressive
from ch 42, mc is convinced by his mother to leave for another country (garim) so under the pretense of accompanying is sister he can escape. but they get caught by ya boi who became the EMPEROR cause the previous one o7ed conveniently then. the sis is begging for the ml to let the mc go so the ml does the most normal think and slices a bit of her ear off and then stab her in the shoulder as a warning. mc goes back with ml and gets fcken drugged and from then it's a fcken trip. we find out later the mc does NOT do well with a stimulant drug which is very popular (ml only wanted to use it to calm him down iirc) like at one point he loses his eyesight but finds out that if he stabs himself, he can see again so he does just that but ml misunderstands that as mc harming himself (i mean yea) to get away from him. so eventually ml lets mc go but mc has this psychological aversion against the ml after this incident and can barely be near him much less with other people around.

ch 50
ml ambushes mc during a hunting game thing so they could have some alone time and mc is obviously shaken. ml confronts him about going to garim again and is begging him not to leave but mc is firm on wanting to be free and feel safe away from the ml. my fav part is the moment mc mentioned his sister, the ml exasperatedly screamed her name cause mc keeps on mentioning her in his presence. speaking of the sister theres a random incest warning in one of the chapters which i never understood why cause theres notjhing sussy between these twins??? anyways. the ml hugs mc one last time before agreeing to let him go.
"if i cared for you less, i would forbid you from leaving. were you not so precious to me, even by the tiniest amount, i would have prevent you from leaving the sooryeon quarters"(im assuming this was during the drugging confinement bit i forgot) so there's a reason why in this wording he's using "care" and not "love" cause right after this the ml tries to confess to the mc BUT BLOCKED mc says those words are not for him and ml goes cuckoo and laughs the pain away oof L.

ch 55: the dialogue was jsut absolutely insane, ngl you should read this manhwa jsut to reach this ch and understand cause WOAH IT'S SO RAW AND PRIMAL LOL
the ml's "love" runs so deep and twisted that he wants to turn the mc into a human stick so mc is entirely dependant on him. if mc were to ever die he would stuff mc's corpse and display it in his chamber. he would devour mc's flesh, ground the bones and ingest it all. "your family and even god, will not have you." so because ml loves mc so much, he tells mc to leave for good.
cause intially before this ch, the mc goes back on that determination to leave and decides to stay after the ml nursed him back to health after he got drugged again. but when ml found mc stayed and his mother left, ml disguised himself and went out to ask him why. then the entire ch 55 happened.

ch 56 is one year later thing and yay happy ending wooo nto really expanding on this cause the thriller bits were more interesting hehe.

i suggest reading and experiencing it yourself, it's pretty frustrating with the miscommunication but their characters are pretty interesting overall. ml's facial expressions at some point are scary and insane, i've never seen that expression before so it could be novel for you too. i like the touch of mc actually getting tanned and fcken ripped coming from a battlefield cause manhwas dont generally do that (and hes also really cute eheheh) their backstories are really cute too albeit some taboo undertones. what really sold this for me was the ml actually explaining how twisted his feelings were for the mc, like really really fcked up, instead of the mc being completely oblivious to the ml's mindset. so if youre still interested, give it a shot!
