Let’s say you’re almost someone’s significant other. However you and the other person have a boundary, which is that you’re not ready to have sex with them.
However, then your ‘almost significant other’ hooks up with another - maybe even your friend - because they couldn’t wait.
Would you still think it was alright?
But in this case anna never said she's not ready to lily, all she said to lily when lily try to confirm their relationship is 'how can i dare, im just a simple maid' and when lily try to talk things off she run away from her. Lily doesnt even know whats going on inside anna's head because when she tried to communicate anna will run away.Thats why i said she had this coming for her
I think that's a very weird interpretation. You could say they were almost there. They weren't a couple due to lack of communication and the huge difference in social class. If you see their relationship as just friends where sleeping with someone else is fine, that's a shallow interpretation.
In the last chapter, it's clear that Lily and Anna see their relationship differently. Lily feels hurt because Anna rejected her sexually, which seems to be all that matters to her. On the other hand, Anna feels betrayed because Lily lied about being committed to her. Anna believed they had something special, but Lily didn't see it that way. They were never on the same page, and Lily comes off as selfish and uncaring towards Anna. She couldn't see anything from any perspective other than her own.
But as always, the problem is the writing, the rapid pace of storytelling, and the shallow characters. The author failed to convey what she wanted with those two, which is why most people, rightfully, dislike Lily.
Lily never just wanted a sexual relationship if you read it again you can see that she want to put a title in their relationship n anna clearly has a problem with that. And you were right they were never on the same page. But if you see the comment here they potrayed lily as a cheating bastard when they(anna and lily) each has their take in the situation. Lily and anna here is a morally gray character where they have their own fault in the situation. I personally hate weak cry baby character but if you observed lily action you can see that she has a reason for her action although she often take impulsive act.
When a character goes from saying, "You are the only one I need, Anna. I love you, Anna. Promise me that you will never leave me, Anna," to throwing herself at another girl the moment she meets her, that character will rightfully be seen as untrustworthy, slutty, and fickle by most people. Moreover, she knew how much she hurt Anna after the first night, so it's not like she was unaware of Anna's feelings. So, I really don't get your point. The hate is truly deserved.
I dont think i need to reply to you anymore cuz i just think what i said to you doesnt go into your head but for the last time Anna has her fault in this situation for not communicate with lily when lily try to communicate with her the whole time. If you see lily expression when she's with the duchess at the beginning its a mixture of distrust and confusion. She isnt even throwing herself at the duchess the moment she meets her, in the beginning we can see all she had is anna. And when the duchess is flirting with her at the beginning we can see that lily ask how can anna be fine about that and thats when she question anna's feeling. Which anna reply to her that she's just a maid she doesnt dare to have those feeling for her and that night just happen to be the night where the duchess see a crack in their relationship and doesnt waste the opportunity. That night the duchess told lily that anna was nowhere and maybe she will never comeback, she took a hit with that sentence bcuz she and anna just talking about anna's feeling for her, and she took the duchess sentences for anna rejecting her and run away. At this point i see that lily just want her mind to go blank and accepting the duchess affection. And in the morning when she sees that anna never run away all this time you can see the guilt and confusion in her eyes and a hint of hope. Hoping that maybe anna questioning what happen and tell her she doesnt like what she did with the duchess. If she just said that sentence in that morning maybe lily will plead to her and hope their relationship can go back. But anna doenst say anything, she just brush her off like always when lily want to explain everything.
No, I understand your point, but I explained why I thought it was bad. I also think you have a very selective interpretation of the story and Lily. If 90% of readers interpret the story differently, maybe it's worth reconsidering your perspective. You say you hate weak, crybaby characters, but all Lily does is cry and blame others for her own actions. So, I'm not sure about that statement.
Lily wasn't skeptical of Rose at the start at all. She was obviously quite taken by her. I can't post pictures here, but Lily clearly looks at Rose with desire. Furthermore, Lily almost kissed Rose twice before any manipulation occurred: the night she arrived and the next morning during breakfast. It was only Anna's interruptions that stopped it. She also sneaked out during the night and lied to Anna about it to visit Rose in her bedchamber. Lily is presented as a character who lacks agency, but the first and only real decision she makes during the story is sneaking out to visit Rose. She almost did it after one night; it was only the orgy that scared Lily away. No one sneaks out during the night to visit someone else's bedchambers without knowing what they're doing. If there hadn't been an orgy going on, Lily would probably have had sex with Rose the very first night, just a couple of hours after meeting her. And during these two days, she told Anna twice that she loved her and that she was the only one for her. So that doesn't make her look good at all.
After sleeping with Rose, Anna was clearly hurt, while Lily looked very happy the next morning. Then she saw Anna and remembered her existence. Anna is almost crying throughout chapter 6 and clearly tells Lily that she feels like she was just getting in the way between her and Rose. Lily didn't react when Rose talked down to Anna twice. So, from Anna's point of view, it seems like Lily dropped her. The idea that Anna was the one who should have done something here is a very weird interpretation. Lily just acted like a child, feeling sorry for herself, and even tried to shift the blame to Anna. Then she started sleeping with Rose, forgetting Anna ever existed, without ever explaining herself. After chapter 8, she blames Anna for her sleeping with Rose. She blames everyone but herself.
So, I think the idea that they are both at blame is pretty selective interpretation. Anna should have communicated better. Lily should have done pretty much everything better.
I think both are true, or at least that’s what the author intended. However, the pacing and writing are poor so it does not come across as well as it should. The story falls apart at chapter 6. Instead of Lily seeing how hurt Anna was and acting like a normal person, she went with Rose to add more NTR elements to the story. That’s why I ultimately believe Anna will lose to Rose again. This story is just NTR porn, giving readers false hope before Anna loses again. Lily is driven by lust, a common trope in NTR porn.
Im suprised that lily get so much hate. Cuz you cant tell me that she's cheating here and why she wants to stay. They dont even in a relationship cuz anna always shut lily when she want to take it to the next level, and when she feel that no one love her the duchess come and tell her what she want to hear. And when she has an opportunity to come back she cant bear the thought of leaving the duchess that 'love' her. Like anna had this coming for her bro.
