I’m pretty sure the penalty after letting ghost possess her body is her fainting. But I totally agree with wanting a FL that doesn’t collapse after a fight

Yeah I know- it's just fainting is so overrated!!
Maybe the penalty could've been not being able to let a ghost possess her body again for X days, or maybe it fucks up their mental health and sense of identity of used too much or something original?!

isn't she collapsing not because of the ghost possess her body but rather her body is not trained enough to endure the fightings? which is also one of the reasons why everyone is shock abt the swordmanship of the fl?

I know- but as I said, fainting after a fight is such a common cringy trope
And she also fainted when she was sparring with her brother- like please no one does that
You may be untrained and you may definitely need to catch a break or falter, but fainting is so uncommon-

I get what you're trying to say here, especially since she's supposedly been training to be a Knight in the Academy but fainting spells aren't as uncommon as you'd think TT

I think this is one of the only times it makes sense for the fl to faint. Think about it, the ghost is a swordmaster who was supposed to be the head of the family and the first to find the legendary sword and she's just a failing student that all the teachers ignore. Although she was supposed to train to be a knight, she was strong and failed the course. She is strong in fight only because of the ghost possessing her, and even then it's not her strength but the ghosts strength...

I'm not saying they aren't extremely uncommon, but it's actually hard to directly faint without feeling some light headedness or near blackouts
And if someone recognises those then they could actually prevent fainting by taking a rest quickly or sitting down and catching a breath

I'm not only referring to this particular fight, but also the sparring sesh with her brother
The brother was serious about it, yes, but not enough to cause harm to his own sister to the point that she would exert so much that she'll end up fainting
Unless she's got low blood pressure or something, the trope is a darn overused one and lacks originality

It doesn't matter who she fights with, because the fact is that the ghost that possessing her is much stronger than her and and if he uses only a small amount of his power, it will be a serious strain on her body. In the first fight he was very excited to use the sword again and didn't control his strength

And that's why she collapsed. The second time she collapsed because he used much more power and both time fainted because she IS NOT a swordmaster like him. The difference between their strengths is like the difference between a mouse and an elephant.

I know we all are just tired of the cliche of fainting after a minor fight or injury, but I still feel like this is one of the few time where fainting after the fight is acceptable and legitimate (￣∇￣")

If it's me, as someone who don't exercise regularly, then someone would possess my body and do those strikes, dude I'll even puke right before collapsing hahaha
