To answer your first question of why chickens are monsters is bcz , in the past when the old dude made researches on how to save his daughter, he discovered that humans and chickens have common traits and in order to reproduce a perfect human or pure human , he had to make those big chickens who will give birth to semi humans , and those semi humans in their turn will have intercourses with a pure woman and at the ends, she will give birth to a perfect human , and that’s how his daughter came back to life ( ofc he used his daughter’s cells for her to come back and not a random pure human) . That’s kinda why the big chickens were there . But since man was having a rage against the society which is corrupted and bcz of that corrupted society , he had to lose his daughter ; he decided to get revenge and punish the world.
Now to answer your question of why humans turn into chicken when they get into their 20’s, it’s pretty simple to understand . The doctor who was suppose to save his daughter was an adult , who betrayed him bcz he had to save the prime minister of their country and he used political relations to warn him that nothing can be done against him. The society is controlled by adults , those adults let him down when he wanted to save his daughter and that’s why his rage was on them , so he wants to punish all the adults, only kids like his daughter are safe until they turn 20 years.
And for the reason why Takeru , Shinnosuke and also Yamato died , it’s just concrete , this is an horror manga and among the first and second characters, some will of course die , it’s sad but inevitable, it could be anyone else aside of those 3 but , not everyone could survive into that hell , no matter how much the Mc even said he gonna save all of them . That’s simply the plot.

- Honestly its a creative story, with a lot of plot hole, like why theres chicken monster, why only after the age 20 y.o. or adulthood human becoming that monster? And the most important are the peoples that already save in the last chapter will or not be a monster when they turn 20? Etc.
- What i hate is when 2 lil brothers are dead, they didnt deserves that man, why author? Why? Takeru and Shinnosuke should be alive.. is it weird to not kill your own characters? Bro i hate it.
- At least our main character and my fav are alive, Yuu and Tora. I'm here just for them. Aki and the other lil child are alive too. And that guy with long hair and tattoo are alive too, i love him. Well i guess its happy ending? Well its a weird story either way.
