sharing whats on my mind. spoiler ahead

after reading the novel, i must say bastian ranks top on my list, next bjorn and lastly matthias. I noticed among solche's works, bastian had a lot of point of views compared to bjorn and matthias thats why i, as a novel reader, somehow understood his personality. his flawed character is well-written (imo). later parts of the novel showed how he loves odette in his own ways. his character is like that bc of the hate and anger he feels towards his father, step mom and step bro. the death of his bio mom and sister who's still in mom's womb was bc of his step mom. his father cheats. his step bro drew indecent arts of odette. the dog he grew fond of was hurt by fam and became rabid, ending bastian killing it and him having trauma to dogs. odette deceived him by taking and burning his plan to bring down his dad's business. he's forced to stand up on his own by being naval admiral coz his fam won't stop degrading him.

I'm so used to reading stories with trash characters and cliche plot (half thanks to wtpad) so his trash character and personality isn't new to me but i understand him (idk maybe because im a psych student and understanding ppl's traits and personalities is always on?) I got a love-hate feeling on him and odette lol
