Squirrel or chipmunk?

I could be wrong but when I saw that "squirrel" I immediately thought it was a translation error because that is obviously a chipmunk but everyone keeps calling it a squirrel. Then I realized I forgot it's name so maybe squirrel was just it's name which I think would be kinda funny but no it's Python/Pecan and now I don't know what to think. I also entertained the thought that maybe it would turn out that they just didn't know the difference and someone would correct them later in the story but I'm not so sure. I'm basically waiting to see how many chapters it takes for someone to say chipmunk instead of squirrel....I've had a realization, assuming this has a novel maybe the novel says squirrel but describes a chipmunk so that's what was drawn, either that or someone has a misconception on what a squirrel looks like. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I’m like 99% sure that the Korean language has one word that means both chipmunk and squirrel so it’s probably originally that word that is in the source material and the translators just interpreted it differently to the artist
