Why does it always start with rape?

that is a really good question, and um, if you want a serious answer, i sorta got that-
um i think it has to do with the really old yaoi tropes and how gay stuff used to be discriminated against yada yada....
i read a book about it once half a decade ago...
but honestly, now a days... its just a really easy plot tool to get to the sex part...
-----which is an issue but ... i didn't write the story so i really cant do too much about it... as authors its easy to use the fast way out especially since its everywhere so everyone is a bit desensitized as long as its not... well... really really bad or continuous after the first encounter or two, ya know, plot tool vs plot point
