I'm not sure that's quite correct. Re-reading the first chapters again, Lariette comes clean on her intent of dating him since the very beginning, it's only when she sees him taken aback that she suggest starting as employer/employee. The 3-months-clause is clearly stated as well.
Also, the fact that Asrahan was going to become dependent was a given, considering she's the only one able to lift his curse, there's just no other way. On a similar point, Lariette didn't know how innocent Asrahan was. He's so handsome that she took it for granted that he already had dating experince, which by the way, is kinda confirmed by the butler if you remember? Lariette asked Hollstein if she was Asrahan's first relationship when she became suspicious of his cuteness, and the butler denied it.
And after they became intimate... well, who would expect a blushing virgin to turn into a wild beast after just the first time? No wonder she misunderstood.
Not saying Asrahan has no fault in this, but lariette has just as much. She knew he was falling hard, and yet kept pushing forward and more. Not even staying the same. Not even clarifying. Yet also kinda silly that she thinks he will somehow also hurt her when he finds out about her lies….? The thought pattern is kind of inconsistent lol
I feel like Lariette had no qualms back because all the time she thought that she was going to die in the end, so... probably it was "go big or go home" with her? Only my opinion, though, but that's how I interpreted it.
Not denying what you said, she definitely kept pushing more and more, but I guess Lariette was so fixated on her death and the three months limit that she never expected having to deal with the consequences of her actions in case they didn't go exactly as she planned. She never wanted to hurt Asrahan, it's just that she misunderstood (or perhaps failed to realize until too late) that they weren't on the same page.
Well recent chapter seems to imply that she totally knew what she was doing but she chose to subconsciously ignore because she is in love with him.
In the end I don’t blame Asrahan for catching feels, because you can’t help that.
And same goes for Lariette.
What kind of annoys me is that she knows she’s dying, yet she continues to sort of bait and lead Asrahan (again, I get it’s just feelings being feelings), but then wants to die alone by just running away, which is very cruel to him.
Not to mention how chummy she acts with Doha. I don’t mean like the hugging and such which can be platonic, but like the cupping of his face and touching his face kinda intimately…
And again, I wouldn’t be so annoyed if not for the fact it’s totally obvious he has feelings since he blushes for like 5 minutes every time lol
She’s just leaving behind a bunch of heartache
wow, kinda dumb not expecting something when you are that pushy from the start. even you fell inlove. Does she have onw brain cell
