i think if this was as badly written as you’re claiming it to be it wouldn’t have such a high rating and i know you stated that you study illustration and comics but a lot of what you said is subjective..
You'd be surprised what gets high rankings on here. It's form over function all the way. By which I mean aesthetics over substance
Have you ever clicked on a manga with no chapters and noticed it already has a bunch of 5 stars? Yeah
the point is most of what you said is subjective
I think a lot of people love things even if they're not necessarily written well! I know I do! It doesn't really mean anything if I think it's *technically* bad.
it's no big deal if you don't agree with me. It's no fun if we all have the same opinions and I wrote the review for fun anyway! and besides everyone's feelings are subjective...
I'm not coming for you though, it's good if you like this manwha. I also had fun reading it a little bit
so I just binged the current chapters and I have some thoughts? no hate to the author, it's hard to write and draw your own comic and eungyo is cute but this is just not... very good. I'm not necessarily expecting good writing from a manwha (but I have read some masterpieces.)
In the first place this is a comedy and I already know this story requires suspension of belief, but it's so badly written that its kind of distracting and hard to read! Even though its a bit alarming to say the least, I actually don't dislike the concept/plot! it's definitely supposed to be absurdist but that doesn't mean it gets a pass though. It's not the worst comic I ever read but
the biggest issue is there's too much exposition!! The characters repeat them selves too much and there's too many flashbacks. like I just read this, you don't have to tell me what happened again. They spent 5 more chapters just talking about what happened in chapter 2. They characters spend too much time talking about what just happened or what they should do instead of actually doing anything and continuing the plot. There's 14 chapters out now but it could have been cut to like 7 or so.
It's not all bad though, the jokes land *most* of the time and the imagery is interesting. the mc and ml actually have good chemistry and I do want to see more of them together! and the ml is pretty too...
anyway I might seem crazy writing this long review about such an unserious story that I'm reading for free but I just wanted to share my thoughts as a student who studies illustration, animation, and comics! I'm gonna keep reading because I do wanna see where this is going... (￣∇￣")
also the eugenics in this story is crazy.
