seeing the fl grow as a person is also really amazing. at first, she's this naive noble girl, but is now this strong and resilient person, who suffered the loss of her father. it broke my heart seeing her do those jobs at the factories and cooking. it's a huge contrast to how she used to be.
i love re-reading this. absolutely beautiful. you could really feel all the characters' emotions – they're well written and feel realistic. batten has a special place in my heart, and i like how both leads pathetically yearns and admires our fl. the art also style makes it so wonderful <3 i think someone who likes period dramas or jane austen's works should give this a try.
