I’m stating an opinion based on the factual way this and many other BL Korean stories like it are written. And people are pressed about it if you bring up this is the standard not the exception. Pick a random BL this point, 8 out of 10 will be some stupid romanticized toxic trait but make it “sexy”, have this be directed at a female protagonist and it’s readers would be in arms, but since it’s gay so who cares. It’s such a deeply warped mindset and it the dominating opinion so any dissent is “wrong”. This plot doesn’t make sense.

This is literally my point. It’s so badly written. If you want smut and I love smut then go all in make it as ridiculous as you want with the simple task of a barely there plot. But not this wishy washy nonsense of I want my cake and eat it too of “ this is such a good plot because the drawing is nice” not an actually well conceived narrative. The BL “Can’t think Straight” is highly popular on here and has a similar enemies to lovers one gay one homophobe dynamic and it’s done in a way while not remotely realistic, the uke of the plot genuinely says fuck off at least and isn’t the one to confess because what makes sense of the victim of homophobic harassment “falling in love” despite their treatment? It’s the wear them
down proximity as roommates, not great but you can make the reach. I like it but I don’t love the setup, here it’s glaringly obvious this setup doesn’t work to make any sense, they simply don’t have to interact with each other if they decide not to.
One of those enemies to lovers plot that truly make zero sense as to why they would end up together. The ML is just homophobic and toxic for literally no reason decides to blame MC for something he had absolutely nothing to do with plus tarnish the reputation of the only person who was genuinely nice to him. And MC instead of saying fuck this I don’t want anything to do with this piece of shit and now forcibly interacting with this guy at his own detriment, because BL logic. Fucking stupid. The ML is also a fuckboy who likes to play mind games as shown in the Raws. Aren’t Korean authors exhausted by constantly churning out toxic narratives as their bread and butter.
