I don't think it was that easy. The duke seems to have some sort of influence to the royal guards (I think we can see in a previous chapter how he dismisses them), that being money related or something else I don't know. It also has to do with the prince, if he is also very heavily influenced by the duke's pheromones he cant do much but "obey" i guess.
I personally think, we should cry...

Seriously!! I hope the author in the next chapters explains what that's about. He's a whole prince but no one listened to him before this, so...what's with the switch up in authority now??? I can only theorize a few reasons.
I would think the author is going to explain in some way that since the rapist was "his Alpha", he had the ultimate authority because of predujice against omegas.
Or either the rapist always used the excuse of he's in heat rn so he can't make decisions and since they were in a sexual relationship, the staff/guards viewed them as a couple, so they didn't look too much in to it. Especially, as shitty as this sounds, when he no longer fought against the rapist...
That's why now that he has the fiancée/ML, it shows everyone that he is no longer in a relationship with the rapist, and his fiancée is his current partner. Which means now the guards view what the white hair guy/rapist is doing is rape/assault.
So, it was really this easy?? All those fucking years the Duke has been raping him, he could've easily arrested him?? Should I laugh or cry....
