Nah he's a red flag but don't compare him to trashta the blood red lake. Trashta feels entitled to everything, Heinrey actually works for things he wants. Huge difference. He's manipulative sure but that's really part of the job. Trashta is just a narcissist with bottomless greed.
In rl, I'd want nothing to do with either
I think the key difference is, his moral compass isn't askewed and he's not evil even if his manipulative behaviours are very obviously dangerous. He does care for his kingdom so he would never be a tyrant, his expansion into the eastern is something that most kingdoms did back then and even now - unnecessary war to show status, gain strength, more territory, and greed. Also his innocent face around the empress isn't fake. He's quite childish around the people he is extremely close to and especially the one he loves. Regardless, I think it's a skill any king or nobility involved in politics needs to have to protect their own and his intentions have never been evil thus far which is why he's not a tyrant. But he very well could be if he wanted to.
I might get hate for this but sovieshit is actually a competent king. Like, his private life was messy af and he's an overall asshole but he runs the kingdom well. That's why he never considered trashta family and even though he seemed emotionally involved with her, it was all calculated plan to get an heir to the throne.
Yes he runs His kingdome well, but he suckes at international deals so Navier ran that. After Trisha joined he even insulted several foreign ambassador's claiming they were making eyes at Trisha and later at Navier (he claimed she was cheating with anyone looking her way).
These ambassadors were in charge of trade with his kingdome, trading suplies that his kingdome desperatly needed to function. Also the only reason anyone was trading with them was because Sovieshit's kindome has innate mage's. And Navier was the one that alowed the mages to grow and become a crucial part of what made the kingdome great, making them a crucial part of the kingdomes power balance. Sovieshit left all of this to Navier + he also gave her some of his own work because "she was better at it". This is why Navier left a check to Trisha for upkeep of general pouplic facilities, she hoped Trisha would keep this upkeep going(Trisha did not).
Sovieshit was literaly so desperate to have an heir that he almost caused a war, Navier had to step in and diffuse the situation only to be accused of cheating with multiple ambassadors by Sovieshit.
We just forgot how much of a manipulator he is. He literally wanted her before just because. He just happened to fall in love. He literally acts like trashta but male version. (I mean he's the cunning and smart version of her) He used his innocent face or facade to make people put their guard down. (He used to make people believe he was a playboy so nobles wouldn't feel threatened with him until he takes the throne, also he used his innocent look and action to make the queen fall for him, because he knew she lacked that kind of attention and love from sovieshu)
