I wouldn't say glorify, given when it is set, I wouldn't choose that word. But it definitely minimizes it and uses it as a tool.
The uke is very complacent, even considering his standing and the setting. After being repeatedly raped the uke only grows fonder of the rapist.
There's no "mind-break" or "Stockholm syndrome" justification, it's written as if falling for the abuser is simply the natural progression of things. And don't get me wrong, many yaois does that, specially old Japanese ones, but in those the rapists/rape are never treated as, you know, abusers/violence, while in POTN the rapist IS very much presented as a heartless violent abuser, and we are supposed to just… idk, like it. Not even overlook it, but genuinely like it since it's his main character trait for the first chapters.
Not only that, the uke never seems angry at the seme, even if we sees the toll it takes on his body, if anything, he tries to rationalize the other's actions at points.
And obviously the uke gets horny despite EVERYTHING, he "gets used" and the whole "it's not rape if he cums around later on" trope. And as this is a heavy smut story, the rape is drawn as sexily as possible.
Which I have to say, works, specially compared to other works that glorify rape while presenting it as sexy, like Profundis, where the scenes completely fail to look sexy, despite the amazing art, because they constantly feel like violence. Here it feels like an attempt to make the readers see the rape as normal sex while still showing after how violent the whole thing is. "yeah, of course the uke enjoys it, look how purely hot this is". It's weird to explain.
Later on it borderlines the threshold of romantization from what I've heard of his redemption "arc" but I didn't read that far myself, so if it somehow gets better, I can't tell you.
(I'm not sure how the fuck it is supposed to get better, tho, with an uke who accepts being raped and then falls in love before the redemption, but…)

Honestly, you have to read it and gauge for yourself. (Just fyi, it’s completed but not all chaps are on here)
A lot of people will agree that rape in BL period is glorifying and romanticizing rape. A lot of people disagree, and think it’s a useful plot point or good for character development.
All about interpretation. You should go into it unbiased and make your own judgements, imo.

I read how many ever chapters were on here and I do agree it does kinda glorify rape, it made no sense how he fell in love with the for the sole reason that he was being raped along side with being favoured. I was especially disappointed because the webtoon seems to depict trauma reactions really well and I really liked seeing how he was actually acting like someone who was scarred by what happened to him rather than immediately being all fluttery with the ml but still him falling in love with him during the whole rape part itself was so disappointing. Considering how their relationship is rn with the ml being nice to him, I wished this part of the story was where perhaps the actual "romance" started with actual apologies and stuff if not the mc running away from that bitchass guy forever
Yall does painter of the night glorify rape? No spoilers pls
