I have a theory. I feel like this is going to have an ending like the movie Shrek Forever After.
For instance, the MC might end up with no star candy and start disappearing, the ML would confess to him, and he might disappear, only to reappear the next day.
Leading to them coming together. I don't know, I watched the fourth Shrek movie, and this is what I thought for this book.
