As for your original comment, I don’t agree with hating him. I hate his abusers and what he’s been through. I can’t relate to him being “bored”, but I can see why he’s become that way.
I’m also a man who has suffered sexual abuse from another man, albeit when I was very young, but that and other things has made life dull for me at times. Not to where I am bored, but rather not able to appreciate certain things like other people do.
His more care-free personality is appreciated though, because it’s different to the typical “goody” types most MC’s have, over and over, in these stories. He feels unique and like he has an actual personality. But it’s not for everyone, and that’s okay.
Flaws in characters is important in writing, and I think this story does well to balance that and his strengths. He’s good at bullshitting, he’s good at seducing, he’s good at handling things on the fly, he’s good at using his influence for good when it matters. He’s bad at saying no, he’s insecure about his own worth deep down, he’s got the bored / understimulated issues, he’s sometimes too forward. I think that’s neat personally. Just my take.

I do write in fact. I do video game narrative, and personal project world building and character development.
I enjoy writing long comments on what I think here as well, illegal site or not. That’s just what I enjoy doing.
